This is not a matter of speculation or political preference but one of geographical and administrative fact.

At this critical juncture, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is preparing for his anticipated visit to Laascaanood. The visit carries immense symbolic and political weight, as it aims to reaffirm the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to national unity, stability, and cohesion across all Somali territories. It sends a clear message that no community, no town, and no region is to be abandoned to narratives of division or secessionist propaganda.

For years, secessionist groups have continuously spread misleading claims designed to sow confusion, such as the oft-repeated assertion that “Somaliland is under attack” whenever Somali leaders, including the Prime Minister or the President, visit regions like Laascaanood. Yet, such narratives collapse instantly the moment one consults an official or even a basic geographical map. The map itself becomes the ultimate argument, a silent but undeniable testimony that dissolves propaganda and exposes distortion.

While secessionist rhetoric may continue to circulate in certain circles, its foundation grows weaker by the day. The agenda of secession rests on misinformation and selective narratives that cannot withstand the test of truth, transparency, and the resilience of Somali unity. Eventually, as history has shown time and again, the weight of reality and the will of the people will cause such falsehoods to disintegrate and fade into irrelevance.

This is why the Somali people, across regions, extend their appreciation and gratitude to the government leadership, and particularly to our Minister of Interior, for their consistent efforts to safeguard the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of Somalia. Their vigilance ensures that the truth prevails, that propaganda finds no fertile ground, and that the vision of a united Somalia continues to move forward with confidence and determination.
