H.E. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has embarked on an official state visit to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, following a special invitation extended by his Algerian counterpart, H.E. President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. The visit marks a significant milestone in the long-standing brotherly relations between Somalia and Algeria, as both nations seek to reinforce their cooperation and partnership across multiple strategic sectors.

The discussions between the two leaders are expected to focus on enhancing collaboration in areas such as security and counterterrorism, trade and investment, education and cultural exchange, as well as infrastructure development and renewable energy. Both sides are determined to open new avenues for economic cooperation that will benefit their peoples and contribute to the prosperity and stability of the African continent.

In addition to the high-level talks, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is also expected to meet with senior Algerian government officials and business leaders to explore investment opportunities and deepen people-to-people connections. The visit reflects Somalia’s growing engagement with African partners and its firm commitment to regional solidarity and mutual development.
