𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮 has notified international airlines that passengers

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮 has notified international airlines that passengers

traveling on foreign passports will no longer be allowed to board flights to 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮 without first securing an entry visa through the new electronic system (𝗘-𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗔/𝗲𝗧𝗔𝗦). Previously, travelers could obtain visas on arrival at 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶 𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀, but this policy was officially replaced on September 1.

The new system exempts only citizens of 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮, reflecting reciprocal travel arrangements, as both countries grant Somali nationals visas on 𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹. Similarly, travelers from Ethiopia, 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶, 𝗗𝗷𝗶𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗶, 𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮, 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝘇𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮, 𝗨𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮, 𝗔𝗹𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮, 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝘆𝗮, 𝗧𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗮, 𝗘𝗴𝘆𝗽𝘁, and 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗼𝘀 will continue to receive visas upon arrival. However, all other foreign nationals—including members of the Somali diaspora traveling on 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀—must now apply online for an eTAS visa before embarking on their journey.
