Somaliland government is busy
responding to opposition parties instead of addressing serious national issues. This behavior is clearly irresponsible and short-sighted, especially at a time when citizens are struggling with rising living costs, high unemployment, poor infrastructure, and growing concerns about security and governance. Instead of turning every criticism into a political fight, the government should listen to the people’s voices and focus its efforts on implementing real solutions that can improve their daily lives.
While the opposition has every right to question and hold leaders accountable, it is the duty of the government to lead with maturity, vision, and responsibility — not with defensiveness or hostility. Somaliland needs leadership that prioritizes economic growth, social stability, and institutional reforms over political showdowns. The youth are losing hope, public trust in institutions is eroding, and investors are hesitant to engage in an environment dominated by political quarrels.
If the current administration continues to focus more on responding to critics than on addressing the country’s urgent problems — such as healthcare, education, infrastructure, and regional development — then it risks alienating its citizens and undermining the very progress Somaliland has worked so hard to achieve. Responsible governance requires foresight, patience, and a focus on national interests rather than political egos. It is time for the government to rise above the noise and take meaningful steps toward building a stronger, more united Somaliland.
