Agent Dismisses “Bridge Transfer” Claims Over Emam Ashour’s Move to Al Ahly
The agent of Egyptian midfielder Emam Ashour has firmly rejected recent speculation suggesting that the player’s transfer to Al Ahly was merely a “bridge move” designed to facilitate a future switch elsewhere.
Speaking amid growing debate in local media, the agent described such claims as “illogical,” emphasizing the financial scale of the deal. “There is no such thing as a bridge transfer involving a fee of this magnitude,” he said. “A move worth $3 million cannot be considered a temporary step.”
He further clarified that Ashour was fully available upon his return from abroad, adding that any club interested in securing his services had a fair opportunity to do so. “When Emam returned, he was on the market. If Zamalek had wanted to sign him, they could have done so,” the agent stated.
The comments come as discussions continue over the nature of Ashour’s high-profile move to Al Ahly, with some suggesting it was strategically planned as a short-term arrangement. However, the player’s representative insisted that the transfer was straightforward and financially justified, dismissing any notion of hidden intentions behind the deal.
Ashour, one of Egypt’s most prominent midfield talents, joined Al Ahly in a deal reportedly valued at $3 million, underlining the club’s commitment to strengthening its squad with top-tier domestic and international experience.
