China has announced it is preparing retaliatory measures after the United States imposed a new import ban on Chinese-made robots and power inverters, marking the latest escalation in trade and technology tensions between the world's two largest economies.

In a statement released on Thursday, China's Ministry of Commerce condemned the U.S. restrictions as "discriminatory" and urged Washington to immediately reverse what it described as unilateral actions targeting Chinese companies. Beijing warned that it would "resolutely retaliate" if the United States proceeds with the measures.

The U.S. restrictions, introduced by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), prohibit imports of new Chinese humanoid and quadruped robots, as well as certain connected power inverters. U.S. officials say the move is intended to protect national security, strengthen domestic artificial intelligence infrastructure, and reduce dependence on Chinese technology in critical industries.

The latest dispute adds another chapter to the ongoing technological rivalry between Washington and Beijing, with analysts warning that further retaliatory measures could deepen trade frictions and disrupt global technology supply chains.
