Somalia, Turkey Set to Announce Results of Offshore Oil and Gas Survey

BREAKING: President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan are expected to jointly announce on Tuesday the findings of Turkey’s offshore oil and gas exploration survey conducted off the southern coast of Somalia.
The announcement is set to follow an expedited visit by President Mohamud to Ankara on Monday, highlighting the growing strategic partnership between Somalia and Turkey, particularly in the energy and economic sectors.
Officials say the survey results could mark a significant milestone in Somalia’s efforts to develop its natural resources, attract foreign investment, and strengthen energy cooperation with Ankara, which has played an expanding role in Somalia’s security, infrastructure, and development projects in recent years.
