Morocco captain Achraf Hakimi to Stand Trial Over Rape Allegation

Morocco and Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi will stand trial in France over a rape allegation, French prosecutors have confirmed.

The case dates back to 2023, when a 24-year-old woman accused the footballer of raping her at his home in Paris. French authorities have now confirmed that the case will proceed to trial after a court ruled there was enough evidence for the legal process to continue.

Hakimi, one of Africa’s most prominent footballers, has denied the allegations and said he is waiting for the trial to present his side of the story. His legal team has also rejected the accusations.

No date has been set for the trial yet.
